The French Office for Combating Financial and Economic Crimes, with the support of the French and Belgian police, is investigating actor Gerard Depardieu. He is suspected of tax fraud.
According to the newspaper, the actor allegedly falsely indicated the Belgian town of Neschen as his main place of residence – he has a villa there, but he has never lived permanently in this town. According to media reports, police have already conducted searches in France and Belgium, and detained and interrogated several people allegedly involved in fraudulent schemes.
In March, Gerard Depardieu will appear in court on charges of harassment. The trial was supposed to take place in October, but then it was postponed at the request of Gerard Depardieu’s lawyer, who said that his client had health problems and could not appear in court.
