What features are characteristic of liquid coolant
Currently, heating systems with liquid coolant are most widely used. The basis of such a system is a boiler. The heated coolant moves through the pipes and gives heat through heating devices. Water is usually used as a coolant, less often antifreeze – non -freezing liquids.
The advantage of antifreeze as a coolant compared to water is that when turning off the heating system in cold weather, the antifreeze will not tear the pipe and the boiler itself (as this can happen when water is used). However, the use of antifreeze as a coolant entails special requirements for sealants and gaskets: ordinary rubber gaskets lose their properties under the influence of antifreeze on an ethylene glyc.
