Antifreeze – modern popular heating material
It is impossible to use standard rubber gaskets for sealing, as this leads to a coolant leakage. Another nuance – heating boilers are designed for thermophysical properties of water (thermal conductivity, viscosity, etc. p.), and the properties of antifreeze are very different, as a result of which the likelihood of emergency shutdowns of the boiler due to overheating or even premature failure of the heat generator is increased.
However, in Western Europe and the United States, non-toxic propylene-glycol antifreezes are quite popular. They are used in double -circuit heating systems, when there is a chance of antifreeze entering the heating contour into the hot water circuit. Relatively recently, by the way, Russian manufacturers began the release of antifreeze obtained on the basis of environmentally friendly raw materials – food propylene glycol.
